Awasthi Sports 157/3 in 20 overs (Aman 46, Aquib 31, Krishna2/31) defeated Anmol Stars 66/10 in 14.5 overs (Yash 22, Aditya 12, Vipin 2/5) by 89 runs.
Awasthi Sports were playing first of their two do or die matches at Guru Govind Singh Stadium Kanpur. They were up against statically worst team of the tournament, Anmol Stars. Parth Sapru, the AS captain won the toss and elected to bat first as all the previous games were won by the team batting first due to the sluggish nature of the pitch.
Batting first Awasthi Sports got a great start of 62 runs by their opening batsmen Yash (26) and Aman (46) before being dismissed by Krishna. Parth wasted another start as he was caught for 18. Some late blows from Aquib (31) and Devansh (14) took Awasthi sports to a par score. Krishna bowled well for his figures of 2/31.
Anmol Stars needed to win this match by a big margin to keep themselves alive in this tournament and they were chasing a target which was not easily gettable on this track and in the chase, their inexperienced batting linup struggled badly just like the previous match. They managed to score only 68 runs in 14.5 overs. Yash Chauhan (22) was able to put some fight but got no support from other end and gave Awasthi Sports a life. Parth again picked up 3 wickets with his offspin and Aquib struck twice with the ball.
