GAIL Utkarsh XI 175/7 in 20 overs (Tushar 65, Ravi 30, Prince 18, Vishal 2/27) defeated Anmol Stars 62/10 in 11.4 overs (Mayank 10, Abhishek 8, Vishal 5, Abhishek 3/6) by 113 runs.

B Group games started on the second morning of Late Surinder Sardar memorial T-20 at Guru Govind Stadium, Kanpur. The pitch termed as 'Diabolical' on the previous day was rolled so well that the dust settled down for the first inning. The strongest team of the group B, GAIL Utkarsh XI played against the weakest team of the group, Anmol stars.
On a humid day, no captain wants to bat second on such wicket, but not Yash Chauhan, the Stars captain. He was lured away by the grass left on the good length areas and elected to bowl first. Little did he knew about the power packed batting lineup of GAIL XI and he made the disastrous decision to bowl. Batting first, GAIL Utkarsh XI made full use of early flatness of the wicket. Their openers piled on 109 in just 9.5 overs. The carnage was lead by Tushar (65) and Ravi (30). Tushar did most of the damage while Ravi was enjoying his batting from the other end. They both plundered 17 fours and a six in their partnership. Mayank got Tushar stumped in 10th over but the damage was already done. Ravi followed Tushar in the dugouts in next over. Some late flourish from Prince and lower order took GAIL XI to a humongous total of 175 in 20 overs which is so far the highest in this season of the tournament. Vishal and Kunal along with Mayank bowled some decent overs in the middle but the party was spoiled by Ishan who went for 38 in his three overs. The fielding standard of Stars was too low and they conceded 26 extras as well.
175 was never easy for the young and inexperienced batting lineup of stars. Their chase never really got going as they were reduced to 42 for 5 in 6th over. Only Mayank (10) was able to reach the double figures as the extras (21) were highest scorer for stars. Abhishek 3 for 6, Harshit 2 for 10 and Diyansh 2 for 10 rattled the inexperienced stars batting linuep with ease to secure a huge victory and announced their tournament debut in style.
