Traders sneaked in to finals by thrashing Ram Sports

Post by GGSA staff

Ram Sports 48/10 in 16.5 overs (Alok 15, Samanvya 08, Vishes 05, Vedansh 3/8) lost to Raj Traders 49/6 in 7.2 overs (Sawez 18, Raj 09, Nikhil 06, Vishes 4/17) by 4 wickets.

Much like the previous game, this second semifinal was also played between two teams who finished first and second in their respective groups. The pitch started turning in the second inning of the first match and both the captains were looking to bat first.

Mayank, the Ram sports captain, won the toss and elected to bat first. Ram sports didn't got of to a great start as Mayank got out on the very first over of the game. Prakhar too lobbed an easy catch at covers after struggling for a while. Shubham Maurya, the go to man of Ram sports failed with the bat as well as he went out for a rare duck. Apart from Alok (15) no other batsman made it to the double figures as they were bundled out for lowest score of the tournament. Vedansh got three wickets while Eklavya made life tough for batsmen consistently beating them outside off as Aradhna made full use of pressure exerted and snapped up two wickets.

48 was an ordinary total for Traders to chase for but some hair brained shots from their batsmen meant they had to struggle at once. Eventually they got past the target in 8th over but they lost 6 wickets in the process to book their tickets of the final. Reckless batting from Traders meant Ram sports never gave up as they fought till last ball. Sawez top scored with 18 for Ram sports while Vishesh put on a magnificent effort of  4/14 in his 4 overs. Raj Traders will take on Elga Chemists on 10th June at 7 AM at Guru Govind Singh Stadium.
